I decided on the Harley 92189-06 molded liners. They look great, simple installation, and fit like a glove.
I have these. They are great and I have not used the included velcro. The fit is good as-is inside my bags. I didn't like the rattles of some items as they worked there way down the bags, and these eliminated them. These are great for everyday use.
I change them out with the 90485-08 bags for the those weekend or longer trips.
I have the carry bags (liners), I can't imagine how else I would carry my things into rooms without it; I guess I could just stuff my things into plastic bags. I leave the bags in the bike all the time and when packing I know if it fits in the bag it will fit in the bike (within reason). The bags also provide some protection for your stuff instead of just rattling around against the plastic bags.
I think I will try to get the bags for traveling and the liners for everyday use. Think I have found a good deal on the bags, just need to get the molded HD liner now. My local dealer is having a "used parts" sale this weekend. Might go by and see if they have anything.
Harley made a mistake cutting holes in the bottom of the liners rather than molding dimples - it'll be a PITA to find small things that fall thru them.
I've seen aftermarket liner bags that are compartmentalized so you can use them as day bags...
I have the deluxe HD bags. 2 for the saddlebags and one for the tour pack. I like them because you know how much stuff you can pack and you can just slide them out when you stop. They only get used for trips. I got them during a 20% off sale at my local dealer.
Do you have speaker lids? If so, did you install the liners with the wires "buried" under the liner? If so, how did that turn out? I was considering a set of these but unsure how well they will adhere to the bag where the wire runs between the bag and liner.
Thanks.
