Default Saddlebag Liners

Just purchased a NTM 2011 Ultra and I was going to get the HD saddlebag liners. I noticed that online there are bags and liners. Liners that require velcro/gluing to the sides and some that are one piece inserts.

Has anyone had any luck with any of these types and/or could recommend a brand. Are the HD worth the extra money?

Are you wanting luggage, which Harley sometimes refers to as liners, or do you want liners as in to line the inside of the saddle bags like the tour pack is lined?

Oh, and welcome to the forum

I have the "liners" that are bags. Makes it really nice to pack for trips with Wife 3.0. Add a tour pack rack bag and use "space age" bags and packing for 10-14 days is easy!

As for the liners, I guess they may offer some kind of insulation or just look nice, maybe keep stuff you put in like a phone or camera from getting beat up, but I normally use the tour pack for those items.

There are lots of storage organization options, from lid organizers to tool bags that go in the bottom of the saddle bags, trays that fit in the top of the saddle bags and tour pack, some offer 12v power ports and even an inverter if you need it, liners and lockable doors for the lowers....tons of options, depending on your needs and riding...

You can get some great ideas here....

I have the one-piece inserts that I bought online... but unfortunately I can't give any information as to what site I got them from without looking at them to see if they have the vendor's name. I do know that they offered free stitching/embroidering of my choice on both bags. They work well for what they are, a good fit, and have handles to conveniently take them out if staying at a hotel so you take all your goods with you. It makes a difference to keep items clean and quiet in the bags.

I only have the bags that came with my 07 Ultra. Never have used the liners.

I was going to get bags for travel and possible liners for everyday use. If I can use the bags for liners as well, then I think that is a win win. I like the idea of handles, but are the bags lined or just plastic material? Would that assist in rattling/noise? I would be interested in looking at the bags you are referring to.

It depends on what you want. I looked at the removable bags, the glue in kits etc. I decided on the Harley 92189-06 molded liners. They look great, simple installation, and fit like a glove.

I have the HD molded bag liners on my 14 Limited. Had them on my 07 SE Ultra as well. They are real nice, adds protection to the stuff in the bag and keeps things quiet. They are expensive, like everything on your Harley. If you are going to keep your bike a long time go with the HD molded liners, if you plan on trading don't. The 14 bags are different, you can't use the pre 14 liners on a 14.

Good luck

I had liners in my Ultra but decided I liked it better with them out. Seems like I could get more stuff in my bags without them.

The travel bags came standard with the bikes in the past.
If you bought a used bike, someone kept the liners.

I like the Harley soft bags. You can find them on eBay.
Put your stuff in them and if stopping at a motel, they lift right out. Sturdy handles, They'll last the life of the bags.

Not a fan of the felt liners as they use up some of the room of the saddlebag.
Space is a premium on a road bike.
