Default Help! 2014 Sgs issue

I removed the front stabilizer bar that attaches from the motor to the front of the frame to replace it with a chrome one I purchased at hd. I lts giving me a hell of a time getting it back on. I gave up. Can I ride the bike to the dealer with it not being attached ? I am due for my 1000 mile service anyway. Should I have them pick it up or ride it in?

Thanks guy. I figured it would probably be ok. Going to call dealer in morning to confirm.

If that new mount is non-adjustable, try installing it with the bike on a center mount jack.
Or even on the side-stand.
Might give just the bit you need.

Does not have Dino oil. I am due for my 1000 mile service.

So what makes it not safe to ride in?

I believe he's messing with you about the Dino oil... It'll be fine to ride in, just take it easy and you shouldn't have any issues.

I wouldn't ride it at all. Stability and Handling will be affected. This style located in the front of the engine REPLACED the center one between the top of the jugs to the frame several years ago.

If you have it on the side stand then the engine is leaning to the left. Try uprighting the bike and installing the stabilizer engine mount. You can push on the engine to align the bolt-holes. I would mount the engine side first then try stabbing the frame bolt.
