Names Bob, Im new to the harley scene and i just needed some basic info on upgrades such as exhaust, intake filters, and re maping.
I ride a brand new 2006 Road King cobalt blue. The bike is a little to quiet for me and i wanted to upgrade my pipes and air filter the right way. Im looking for other peoples opinions on the best bang for the buck. Im leaning towards the V&H ovals and SE intake. pictures to come.
I have v&h ovals, free breathing air cleaner (ness big sucker same as the SE) and a PCIII from fuelmoto with exact map for my parts by jamie that they load in free, also extra year warranty, 289.00, Mine is a 07 but many others on here with 06 s run this combo. Great sound, power and less engine heat.
You will find a ton of options. Research, research, research here to find what you like. I waited a year then I did my own upgrades. I love mine and have had 0 problems!
You'll get a ton of confusing advice, but, we all mean well. Anyway, I have the V&H Ovals and SE (screamin' eagle) air cleaner along with a few other mods. Just be sure to have your bike remapped on a dyno when you're done and you'll need either the SERT from HD or a Power Commander depending on the shop that tunes your bike. Welcome to gang - I just finished a ride and mis-read my odometer - needed 4.917 gallons of gas at the pump - a close one. Riding season is finally here - wahoooo!

lol, that was close! I really miss my 06 FLHX carb for that very reason. Something secure in the fact you can just switch to reserve if you forget to gas up...
I have a rk custom. I bought the SE air intake and put on a set of Sampson drag fishtails. No baffles. Can't say much about the performance except I did not noticeany difference. But, wow, are they loud. Love it. Get a lot of decel popping, but I LIKE it. Sounds mean, and I like freaking people out.
Someone told me a don't need to replace the maping if I put on new V&H ovals and a air filter. They said the bike will remap itself.Does any buddy think this is true,or is that false information.
