Default Angled Valve Stems??

This one may sound really lame but........I just took delivery on an '07 Ultra Classic with the chrome "profile" wheels. Getting ready for my first ride today and tried to check the air preasure. Wow, kind of difficult to get the gauge on the stem because it is mounted directly in the middle of the wheel - not offset to one side like my Heritage was and the front disc brakes are hanging there too. Finally get an accurate reading and find that the front is a little low so off to the service station for first stop. Now impossible to get the air hose with built in gauge on the stem between the disc brake and the spokes (which conveniently have the wheel weights on each side of the stem too!). Back home, get the compressor out of the basement, fire it up and inflate the tires. What a major pain, and I can only imagine the fun on the road if you don't happen upon a station with just a plain air hose.

Now the question. Is anyone familiar with an angled valve stem that can either be added to the existing stem or used as a replacement? Thanks in advance.

Good question!! I would like one for the air suspension valve on my RK. It is located so it cannot be reached without removing the saddle bags. If there was an angled add-on it would work great.

I'll be watching this thread. I have the same wheels and although I was able to get a reading and fill the tires, it was a pain in the butt! I had to snake hte hose and air chuch through the spokes, etc. A little angles extension would probably work fine I figure.

Both 45 and 90 degree chrome valve stems are common and can replace the OEMs during the first tire change.

Unfortunately its a tube on the laced wheels. I would call a couple indies and see if they make an angled valve stem on the tube?

As luck would have it, I can't find the link but I've used angle valve stem "extenders" on a number of my bikes. I only put them on when I need access to the stem then I take them off before I ride - it only takes a minute and ensures that the wheel balance isn't affected and prevents the existing stem from being fatigued by the weight of the extender. I'll searching for the link and post it if/when I can find it.

You want something like this:

(But you obviously would only need one if you're only using it for temporary access.)

I wonder if the spokes will be in the way for turning that extension in.
