I have the MGS True Duals with a PV running their tune. No objectionable "popping", "backfires" or anything else. Some throaty downshift gurgle, but nothing I didn't like. Performance is great, sound is great, look is great. What else would you want in an exhaust system?

Fullsac and Fuelmoto aren't true duals.
Couple other options are Cobra and S&S. Both make H pipes that look and sound like true duals but perform better.

I thought that the true duals made less power in the rpm range these bikes live in but might make more peak #'s. Do you install just for the sound ?

I had no complaints, I liked being able to check the A/F ratio of each cylinder or to hold the palm of my hand over the end to sniff for gas or oil smells, individually....I especially loved the stereo effect at a light...

You are basically correct. True duals make less power at lower RPMs and may make more power on the top end, when compared to a good set of 2-1s.

True duals are a second rate option for HD And VTwiun engines they need the scavenging .
It just sounds cool o say true duals.
Try the fuel moto 2-1-2 go high flow if you have a big build other wise standard you know the difference.

To many of us, True Duals sound the best and the power loss is negligible to most. For those of us who want the sound of the TD, there are options out there to help negate the negatives of a true dual system. (see below) After having a TD system for 4 years and going back to a stock header with 4" Jackpots, I can't get back to TDs fast enough. I hate hearing the exhaust all on one side. I'm not familiar with the exhaust systems/options on anything newer than mine.

MGS claim:
"Dyno-developed by MGS to produce more horsepower and torque than the competition. In most cases a 15% gain at the rear wheel. Why compromise on quality, looks, sound, or power when you can have it all with MGS? The MGS True Duals are one of the easiest ways to bolt on additional horsepower and torque. OVER 12+ ft lbs of torque, and the power band is right where you want it, very broad, power right now with a flick of the throttle that doesn’t let up until redline."
