Default chrome front end / fork sliders

My question is who is best to go with fpr an exchange? Quality and price wise? I've never touched the forks or anything, what all do I need to know to change out the sliders? Ive done bars and inner fairing swap and all so I think I can handle it. Anything else to do while I have things apart like changing to heavier fork oil? Not sure I want to change to monotubes or anything yet. Just more so want more Chrome on the front end. I have a 2011 sg.

You can do it. Lots of threads, some step by step w/ pics.

Time to change cowbells if inclined. I went w/ chrome. The oem are ss.

A few million opinions on oil, which you must at least change for new. I did a 40/60 mix of stock & cvo. Better, but still stock hd. ... To fix my oil issue, this winter I'm installing a cce upper 3-tree, new springs, and fabrik8r's tweaked intiminator. Got the guts to do this from doing chrome sliders last year.

good luck

I just did this - went with Rick's plating - also got the cowbells, wheel spacers and axle covers (and rotors) while I was at it.

Scroll down for a couple of videos explaining the job:

They look great!

I got mine from Impress Chrome & Polish. Great to deal with. Got the cowbells from them too. If you done all the other stuff you mentioned, you won't have any trouble doing this. Youtube has a couple videos on this and Google it and you'll find all the info you need.

I went with Ricks Plating as well for sliders, callipers and rotors. Happy with the price and quality. You can call or email him direct but ordering through ebay was easy and I don't think you would get any different price by calling.

If you're going to take the front end apart, go with the Progressive Monotube front shocks.
If you pull the front end apart, you need to change fluid.
Adding the Monotubes will eliminate the need for a future fork oil change.
Price of the Monotubes is about the price of a fork oil change.
Savings in never needing to pay for fork oil change again.
