Been there, done that. As kool as it looks, lean angle sucks to the point of making it no fun ride for me. Very expensive lesson... Yet I really like the look and am thinking about some cvo style bags???
You aren't talking about the "Black Death" bags from misfit are you?? Those would look silly without full body work. Tank, side panels and a 23+" wheel. And you couldn't ride it anywhere there wasn't a flat road. WHICH ironically, is anywhere in 95% of this state. I just don't think riding in that 95% of the state very fun!
I don't think it will look stupid. I just purchased stretched bags and rear fender. I don't plan on raking out the bike. I have a 21" on the front and custom fender.
Extended bags and fender look awesome.. Extended and Stretched/Swept bags are a whole different ball game. I still like the look but without a stretched tank and raked forks they would look strange.
I think it would look stupid. I must be one of the few who just do not dig stretched bags. Not useful and prone to damage is what I think. I ride my bike and take it in places 99.824 % of you would never go.
But it is your bike and do what makes you happy. I think your bike looks pretty good as is.
I have a 2007 Streetglide. It has a 21 inch rim, stock rake with single disc brake and Ness legs. I really like the look of extended bags and rear fender. I find myself drawn to the swept back 8 or 9 inch extension found on something like the Sinister Industries Top Shelf *** end. My question is with me not having the raked front end and a 26 or 30 inch wheel will it look stupid to put these swept type rear end bags and fender on the bike? I know it is all in my opinion but I am soliciting thoughts to see if anybody has done this before or even has pictures. I also like the Baddad bags and fender but that swept back longer extension sure looks neat. I don't like the idea of raking the front end one bit at all so that really isn't an option. Please let me know your thoughts and share a picture of a stock rake with the swept rear end if you have one. Thanks for reading my post.
Go for it! Hell that's what was being done before the big wheel thing started. I would even venture to say that was the look that drew many of us off our softails and onto a bagger in the first place. Well, that and the stereo.
