Torque wrenches
I picked up a sweet 1/2 snap on Harley Davidson edition torque wrench the other day that's 50-250ft lbs and need to cover lower than that I have been researching cdi which is a snap on brand and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them

I have a cornwell I believe. Its blue. Works like a charm. Its the digital one that does several units. I used it when I broke down my f250s engine down to the valley. It worked good. Check around ebay for a deal. Thats what I did. I have the 3/8 (next size down from 1/2).

After looking at a single socket for 20 plus dollars I had enough of snap on. Their made in china line is blue as opposed to red. Perhaps a more familiar member could elaborate.

I have 2 CDI torque wrenches in 1/4 and 3/8. Both are well made and come with factory calibration certificates, and are easy to adjust and use.
CDI tech. support will tell you that their wrench is the same as a Snap On, EXCEPT that the CDI wrench comes with an imported ratchet head while the Snap On comes with their own ratchet head.
It's a great wrench, by the way. The working part (guts) of the wrench are the same as Snap On according to their people.

I recently bought 2 CDI dial type wrenches. 0-175 ftlbs and 0-150 inlbs. There are a bit pricey but its one area I wanted accuracy and long life. They've been working out great, I love 'em.

As far as their cost yes they are expensive but when you have high grade polished 12 point stainless, Torx, or Allen on motors nothing beats a quality socket where you dont munch the hardware. If anyone disagrees with this statement they have never wrenched professionally, period!
