WOW!

I really like the compactness of that mount. Looks like that going on my wish list!

Thanks for posting.

Seems like you're going to have a juggling act going on getting the metal rods attached to the quick disconnect plate.

I thought the same thing about the separate rods until I actually did it. It would be harder messing with those detachable latches while trying to mount/unmount to a fixed rod on the wall. It's really much easier than getting the thing on and off the bike.

After removing it from the bike, I place the Tour-Pak on a rubber mat on the floor, resting on the passenger backrest. Then snapped the rear rod in using the detachable latches like when mounting on the bike. Then use the velcro strap to cinch up the forward (lower) rod.

The rods are then firmly on the Tour-Pak. You then just heft the entire thing up onto the wall plate. I purposely mounted the wall plate at a low height so it was easy to lift the Pak on/off of.

I'm very happy with the mount. I did it a couple of times with a helper then tried the entire process myself to make sure I could do it in a pinch. I still would prefer a helper just so I don't drop the Tour-Pak.

Huh! Never thought of storing it in the vertical. Great idea.

I spent all afternoon building a horizontal style wall rack. Now I can't find a place to hang it where it won't be in the way.

That's what got me hoping someone made something like this. I didn't have the room for a horizontal deal like the HD Detachable Depot in my cramped garage.

The Harley solution is twice that price. You have two Tour-Paks?

I thought of having my brother in law fabricate something but I'd spend half that in parts then waste way more than $50 of his and my time to come up with something that wasn't as slick or well made.
