300 miles is a day trip lol. Simple, set the cruise, set the tunes, put your feet on the pegs and enjoy the ride. Good luck and have fun.

This is a joke right? You're nervous about riding around Lake Michigan? God-Damn, these things were made to be ridden, so ride it.

How about some details on your bike, and who services it? I put 23k on my 2003, the last 3 years, no problems.

Went from central WI to central MI, through UP last year, great trip.

And Green Bay to Milwaukee is 120 miles. Did you mean the whole trip was 300 miles?

I do the exact same thing. I call them shake-down cruises.

300 miles for a "trip" is kinda disappointing. 4500 miles though... good times.

300 miles? Take Gas money a samich and a couple bottles of water. If you figure on stoping for lunch when you get there, then forget the samich.

300 miles means 1 gas stop of about 5 min only 4-5 hours bike time. Service the bike and ride it to work for a couple of weeks to make sure all is well. Take a set of Cruz tools cable ties and electrical tape. Head out and have fun.

Or get a new bike if the one you have makes you nervous.

What exactly are you worried about? The bike not being able to make it or you?

If you are worried about yourself then ride at your pace, bring cash and credit card and cell phone, bring water, rain gear, a snack, comfortable clothes and helmet. Stop every hour and a quarter OR 100 miles whichever comes first. Plan a lunch destination half way. You can do it.

I rode the Lake Michigan Circle in '08.

GREAT ride. Don't miss the "Tunnel of Trees" out of Cross Village, Michigan...
