Default Is a heavy breather needed?

I currently am running stage 1 with rinehart true duals, tts mastertune and screaming eagle ac with a K&N filter. In about a month I am doing a stage 3 with S&S super stock 95 kit with head work and boring, or going right to the 111" they have now.

with the performace upgrades will I need more air flow and benifit from a heavy breather?

With head-work It will help out. When you see them on stock heads I think it is just a looks thing. They do look nice remember to get the shorter version if you ever want lowers for speakers or wind deflection.

Nope. Your S/E setup flows more than what your motor will need.

will not work with speakers in the lowers. there just isn't enough room. with the stock flaps, i have about 1/8'' between the filter and the flap.

Nope not needed truth is your stock Air clean with any free flowing filter will flow all the air your build can use. But dam the HD SE heavy breather Looks so good and it moves the darn thing away from you leg.
