just wondering what people find that are the best eye wear in the rain. I only wear half helmet and glasses. please let me know what works glasses or goggles
I was coming back home to Toronto from Connecticut last summer after watching my kid play baseball. I ran into the hardest rainstorm I've ever been caught in. I mean, this was serious rain that came down for a couple hours during the ride. I had to push through it, but am a seasoned rider. Pulled over, put on the rain gear, placed my half helmet in the tour pack and changed into my full face. Rode through it without a single problem. There is no substitute for the right gear and really, a full face is the way to go in the rain.
I wear a 3/4 helmet. I never liked a face shield until I took my ride to Detroit, Chicago & Milwaukee.
I have a GMAX GM17S. It has a flip up shield & sun shade. If you want, you can take the shield & sun shade off. I put them on and haven't taken them off. In the summer, I raise the shade a little to get more air flow.
The GM17 has good air flow through the helmet. If you close the vents you can feel the difference. It has a removable interior & speaker pockets.
I like it so much, I bought a second one to replace my original when it wears out.
I have yellow sunglasses with foam, the yellow makes things brighter. Bought them with a set of clear and smoked glasses. My eyes are happy but my face takes a beating.
