I'm doing some work on the bike, going to change out the belt and sprokets. Nothing too exciting. So I like to have the stereo playing while working on the bike. I had the switch on and tunes playing. Then I disconnected the battery ( was hooking up the charging lead ). Anyway, the moment I disconnected it the siren went off for a few seconds till the charge was gone. I hooked up the charging lead and now the siren doesn't work and I can't get the bike to fire up. The signal lights alternate flashing, indicating a security breech. But the key fob wont silence it, and I can't get the code mode to show up by pressing both signal light buttons when it's powered up.
So I burnt something out. What would you do? Any thoughts?
Oh, by the way, I got the pipes off. Does the computer know that the O2 sensors are not installed and that is actually the reason the computer went braindead?

You didn't say what year bike you have but the procedure is to turn on the ignition switch to run with the key fob close by, wait for the red key icon to go out and then pull the maxi fuse.
Pulling the maxi fuse prior to removing the battery is always a good thing to do.
The state it's currently in. When I turn on the switch with the fob near the signal lights go into the alternating flashing pattern. No siren. I think I toasted something.
If it's the Security System Module it's 68924-07 and it retails for $273.68. Might be able to find a used one? Here's a link to bypass/defeat/remove the system.
By the way, thinking about this, once I get the bike back together, all mechanical parts such as wheels and pully's, if it doesn't start I will get it towed to HD and they can fix it on Warranty. Disconnecting the battery shouldn't fry a module. But I won't tell them that part, just act dumb and say it wont start. I dunno what happened.
