The manual calls for 60 ft lbs,that's pretty good torque. Buy the sip octet from jp cycle you won't regret it.

A short 36 mm socket also works.

JP Cycle 1 3/8 low pro socket made by Motion Ind. is what you need $15 if you need to work around a batwing fairing.

Me too. Amazon. First one I ordered was the wrong size. Went to return it and Amazon told me to keep it. AND they deducted it from my cc. But the new wrench was about $8. I wouldn't spend too much. It doesn't take a lot of force to get those off. Snap On is probably the best tools out there, but you pay for them........Harbor Freight will be fine for this task.

You are correct, the manual notes 60 foot pounds. However, I just installed monotubes, and needed to remove the caps. Sure felt less than 60 pounds to me, and my bike had never been apart before.
