Bike will not start after Ape install

I'm trying to understand this as well. I had wires 1&3 and 4&6 transposed on my TBW on the first bars I ever did and the bike cranked and ran perfectly fine...just no throttle.

It just didn't make any sense to me why this wouldn't allow the bike to start.
