Well this sounds great. I knew to not leave finger prints on the mufflers. I have to use the Windex on Tue chrome. I usually use the turtle wax spray in the paint and the maguires detailing on everything else. I am getting new Vance and Hines mufflers in the next day or two and just wanted to do it right
Use whatever is handy, never used steel wool, chrome polish once a year ti fet the tar spots off. Also wipe the inside of tips on my Monster Ovals with laquer thinner to get the soot off. Wax wont stay on a hot muffler.
The underside of mufflers and swingarms often have burnt on road grime, tar, etc.
The best thing I've ever found was dipping 0000 steel wool in kerosene, then a good wash afterwards. Your chrome will shine!
First learned of this 40 plus years ago from Brit bike riders. In Britain, kerosene is known as "parafin." My Triumph owner's manuals had me scratching my head until I learned what it was.
Kerosene is a solvent, so wear rubber gloves to keep it from being absorbed into your body and filtered by your already saturated liver.
