Below is a pick of my bike with a t-bags Super T and roll top bag. I highly recommend any of the T-Bags luggage. It's quality stuff, and I own 3-different ones. On the passenger seat is a waterproof duffle (not t-bags) with camping gear, but can be used for all kinds of stuff.

This picture was taken on a 2-week trip.

I have a marcee cruiser bar bag. It has a rather large main compartment and a zip off duffle on top. I picked it up at my dealer with the in store credit when I bought a new bike back in 08. It was in the neighborhood of 200 bucks.

or you may be able to borrow from a riding pal who isnt doing a trip at the same time.

I'm up on SK....got lots of pals from there. I used to work for the Pikes.

SK has a pretty big riding community for a place with a 2 1/2 week riding season.

Not quite as big as hullhorr's luggage, but I really like the Iron Rider (Dowco) bags. I think they are the ones harley is now selling with their branding, but less expensive if you just buy them direct.

They are great if you just need to augment the saddlebags, and fit real well on the bike's luggage rack. They stack as well, and have a waterproof cover if you need it.

This works well for me. Straps run down to the saddle bag guards and back to passenger backrest. Also use Ridetek lid haulers for camping gear.

Bought the t-bag used on ebay.
For less than 50 bucks you could use a ALICE pack from an Army/Navy surplus store.

I have the Kuryakyn Ultra Tour Bag.Bought it this winter so never used it yet but sure looks like it will do the job.Plenty big, pockets on sides, and looks pretty durable. What sold me on this bag is that while mounted on bike, you can open it from either the top and or the sides. So if you have a rollbag on top of it and need to fetch something, simply unzip either side to open it. Also...it says it will fit over a wide backrest pad.I have a RKC,and it does have a large pad and does fit over it for mounting.Fair priced also http://www.leatherup.com/p/Motorcycl...ec/140745.html

I've got the Kuryakyn Ultra Tour bag also. Bought it back in 08. It has served me well. Also has plenty of room. Easy to carry. With some expandable compartments. Waterproof cover included. JR

Tough to beat Saddleman. I would recommend getting something with a collapsible handle and wheels.

My buddies have been using the Kury Ultra Tour bag for years - holds a ton of stuff, even a 30 pack if you are so inclined. Lots of side pouches and a rain cover. I bought one but haven't used it yet. It's available thru Amazon for $118.

I too have the Kuryakyn Ultra Tour bag. Bought it used from a gent who was getting out of the riding business. Got it for a steal off this forum. I like the Kuryakyn bags because they are what I call semi-rigid. They have plastic inserts in the walls. They are flexible to an extent, but provide support if needed. I mount it behind me and use it as driver back rest. Waterproof cover is not attached, but it works great just the same. Just have to keep up with it. And as others have said, you can pack a lot in it, and access it from the top or sides if need be. I recently bought a Kuryakyn Gran Tailgater simply because I wanted more room and it has a handle and wheels on it. Pull it off the bike, extend the handle, and roll it to your room. Proving that you can pack too much in the Ultra Tour, and make it a pain in the *** to carry it in. I haven't used the Gran Tailgater yet, but it is of the same construction as the Ultra Tour and appears to be just as sturdy. My Ultra Tour may show up here F/S in the future. Gonna check with some of my riding buddies and see if its needed there first. Anyway, suffice it to say I love Kuryakyn for their bags anyway. Hope this helps.

Thanks

Jack
