I really like the look of the black Linbar's on the touring bikes but would like to know the height or inseam of the guys that use the footrest position? I don't want to spend the money on the bar and not be able to use the foot mounts. I don't have highway pegs now and don't really want them so I was wondering who seems to fit the Linbar?
I'm 5'10 with a 34 inseam.
Im 5'11 ". 34" inseam. I can reach mine but not easily. Dont know if its due to solo seat that pushes me lower and further back. Looks great but not very functional for me without adding pegs.
The Linbar is a 100% improvement in looks over the stock engine bar in my opinion. I don't like the chrome or the size of the stocker but I would like the footrests to be functional. I did a search and some say they are, others say not, and others have added pegs to the Linbar. If it's not going to fit me, I don't want it. I'll add pegs to the ugly stock bar and maybe powdercoat it.
Thanks
I put a Linbar on a bike I had instead of a stock. The only thing that the foot rest were good for was throwing your foot over on extended rides just to have another position. I added highway pegs to it too. The one I had was kind of flimsy and the bars would tend to flex a lot and have to be bent back occasionally. They had a sticker on them basically saying they weren't for protection.
On my 09 RoadKing I'm running OEM bar with pegs. 13 Wide Glide no bars they would mess up the look. Besides it has forward controls, and is basically my hopper when the OL isn't with me.
I have put linbars on both of my Softails and found them to be a very good product. Never had any issue. They were way to far forward to use as a footrest on my Softail. Not sure about a Touring bike.
I got the linbar on my street glide. And so far i really like them. Im 6'3 34" inseem. Havent used them on a long run yet cause i put them on in the winter. But from the experience ive had with them so far i like them. Only few small things i had to get used to was they dont angle forward at the bottom where they connect to the frame and with a size 13 boot i had to get used to where my foot was for shiftin cause it would brush the bars. Second is i have a se a/c and that gets in the way a bit with puttin my leg up. It kinda rests on the side of the a/c but i got tree trunks for legs so this may not be an issue for some.
