Been looking around at a variety of options lately for extended saddlebags.
I'm not looking for the 4" stretch, and I'm not a fan of the CVO 'curved' bag look, but I've recently found some options I like.
Top Shop makes 2" and 3" extended bags, GREAT quality, $900 unpainted.
Bad Dad offers a 2" extension; while it looks perfect (to me), they are extensions and I'm not a fan for numerous reasons.
I just found that Drag Specialties offers a 2.71" extended bag that is exactly what I'd like. I can get the full set for $630... shipped!
Now, has anyone had any experience with these or are they familiar with the quality?
How much extra work is involved with the finishing/painting of these?
(The quality of the pre-coating on the bags and ease of finishing for the painter.)
Do you know of anyone who has added these bags to their bikes?
Any information would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!!
Mine are 5" bags. I don't like the CVO curved ones either. These are from Fairing Factory. $600. Unpainted. Have had 'em on for about a year. I wanted mine to cover the entire side of the pipes. If you're worried about scraping them, notice in the one pic how they're "scalloped" on the bottoms. I think if you scrape these things, you'll be having bigger problems than scraped bags. Can't help you with much else. I didn't do the prep & painting.
