Default Battery Tender question

Does anyone else hook it up via the positive post on the starter and grounded to the frame I was thinking of doing this because I haven't hooked my leads up yet on my streetglide?? Thanks for any input on this...

my tender is connected to my battery, hooking it to the starter and just grounding it where ever does not sound very efficient to me, wouldnt that send the power the long way to the battery instead of sending the power straight to the battery?

That makes no sense. If your bike doenst have a battery tender pigtail from the factory, install one right to the battery for easy connect/disconnect.

Hook it directly to the battery. The tail is plenty long enough the run it from behind a side cover.

we sell them, great tenders and we install direct to battery, need that to not lose the amps or cause draw. pig tails are definitely long enough.

I ran a wire off my battery's positive terminal to my left saddlebag, I clip the maintainer to that wire and any ground on the bike. I use a Schumacher SC-1200A/CA SpeedCharge 3/6/12 Amp Charger/Maintainer/Tester I bought on Amazon, it works great. It has a switch for AGM and Std batteries. I checked it with a volt meter and it maintains right at 12.8 to 12.85 volts.

It will work that way and not harm anything. Is there a reason NOT to go direct to the battery?
