Default Brake issues

I just recently had my lowers and a few other items powder coated and this weekend I went to reinstall everything i got to attaching my front brake calipers and noticed that all the pistons were pushed out. I corrected that somewhat i thought. I used a c clamp and pushed one side back in then the other but it seems now that my front brake lever has no pressure and when I put power to the bike my brake lights wont even light up has anyone encountered this issue and if so what do I do to correct it.

Did you bleed the brakes and insure you had fluid all the way down to the caliper?

sounds like you got a couple of problems. the brake lights have nothing to do with the calipers. there is a microswitch up by the brake lever. to turn your brake lights off, you depress the switch. when you pull on the lever, the switch pops out, closing the circuit, and causing your lights to come on.

usually, when you break the switch, the brake lights are on all the time. now it is possible that the brake lights are on, but because they don't get brighter when you pull the lever, you think that they aren't working.

as far as the pistons go, really sounds like you need to do some serious bleeding. or you pushed them in so far that you just haven't built up enough pressure to push them out far enough yet. when you release your brake lever, the pads will only back off far enough that there is no braking force on your rotors, not further (unless your rotors are warped too)
