Default Tour pak on SG. What do i need?

I am strongly considering getting a tour pak for my 08 SG and I know there are several other parts needed to complete the install (lock, mount, etc.). I am hoping someone out there who has done this can give me a list with part#'s for everything needed. I have tried to look online but just can't seem to find all the info I need. Thanks.

all you need are the TP, appropriate docking kit and a detachable TP rack/mount.
Install docking kit, bolt rack to TP and done. Should take about 20 minutes.

You do need to order the lock as well... if you give them the key code for your bike they will order the same for the tour pack, then you don't need to different keys.

You can also get a "trigger" lock from Harley to secure the QD mount to the bike.

If you don't have your key code, you should be able to use your VIN # at your local dealership for the correct lock.

I initially had a detachable mount for my tour pak and found that the vibrations and weight wore the mounting pins to quickly. I removed it and decided to buy the stock tour pak mounting hardware.
The detachable was just not strong enough and I never took it off anyway.

Depends on what you are doing. If you ride 2 up you ill need a back rest and lower back pad. Do you want speakers? Do you want a luggage rack? Do you want lights? Do you want a liner in it? I did a TP last year and by the time I was done I was into it over $4K. But, I added everything plus an amp, LED headlight and LED spotlights.

To say exactly what you need go talk to the parts department. They gave me a quote, I compared prices online and then they beat it when you consider the reward points I got.

Going the "all the way" route, would it not be wiser to trade in the bike for a suitably equipped model? Just thinking out loud.

Now that I'm retired and we're contemplating a move to NC (foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains), I may want to add a tourpak at some point...

ARE YOU SERIOUS??? I also want a tour pak but man, I don't want to shell out all that cash. But I can see how it can get very expensive, very fast.

If the budget does not allow for the full Harley stuff, you can get an aftermarket tour pack from http://www.mutazu.com/products.php?c...ies&s=prod.php

It is not Harley quality in paint nor construction, but for $100 it comes with interior padding, opening support wires, backrest keyed lock, and simply bolts onto the Harley 4 point mounting bracket. (gotta drill the holes).

Mine usually hangs on the wall until G/F wants to come along. It gives her a place to keep her purse and stuff, and a place for me to lock up our helmets.

Design looks great on a Street Glide. Smaller and lighter than a Harley King Pack, but bigger than a chopped pack.

Whole thing costs less than just a Harley backrest.
