First thing is to check your volt meter.
Turn your key to ignition and watch the needle.
It needs to be on or above "10". If not, your bike should not start.
If your volt meter is below "10", get a 2amp battery charger and give your battery an overnight charge.
If your volt meter is above "10" and fails to start, you have to look elsewhere for your problem.
If you have an electrical issue, your bike should "code" so you'll have to take it to someone that knows how to check for coding, and what the code is.
FWIW, I had a 2000 Ultra that developed some issues (stalling and hard to start at times) and it turned out to be a defective "kill" switch, but don't overlook the obvious. Fresh spark plugs (if not already checked/replaced) is a very cheap place to start eliminating possible problems.
