Plan on engine work, have 3k to play with. What to do to an 88 twin cam with 40k on the odom. I do have a guy who can do any motor work 100 miles away, so im looking for advice on gaining more HP. Dealer quoted me $4016 for 98 kit and all the things to go with that. But like always i know dealer is way high.
If ya already have a stage 1 (A/C, ehaust, tuner) $3k ought to get ya 98 pistons and bore, cams, headwork and tune. Talk to a few builders for a combo to fit your style.
If your stock 3000 wont get you much cam and stage one tuner pipes
You must be high !! 3k will get a lot.
Shop wise and do the work yourself.
Cams, pushrods, head work, tuner, A/C, Slip ons, tensioners replaced, baisley spring, fuel line and filter, Lyndall pads, Glide Pro system and maybe a little more.
baisley spring, fuel line and filter, Lyndall pads, Glide Pro system and maybe a little more. What is all that lol
Baisley spring can increase oil pressure,
Fuel line and filter are in tank and with 40k along with age you could perform the dervice to them to ensure your new powerplant is well fed.
Lyndall is brake pads that are better than factory to help you stop better.
Glide Pro system replaces motor mounts and components to keep your bike going on the line you intend for it to be on.
