Default new handle bars

we are going to put new handle bars on my brothers streetglide and was wondering if we should buy the wiring kit that comes with everything including clutch cable or piece together parts ? i'm leaning towards buying the extended tbw cable and then making the rest ourselves. what do you guys recommend?

All depends on what size bars you're going with. Bars like the 10" Twin Peaks you can getaway with using stock length cables. Anything bigger I would either buy a kit if you can find one that meets your needs, or do like a lot of people do. Buy the wire extensions and solder them in and buy what ever plus length cables. What ever you do, do yourself a favor and get the SE TBW. Doing that will help eliminate a lot of problems people have with the stock TBW when doing bar swaps. Also be sure too change the stock bar bushings out for a good set of urethane bushings.

Get it all in a kit, and hopefully you have a service manual available. It takes some practice to learn how to pull the wires out of the connectors to feed them thru the bars. Cut and splice is a major time consuming PITA and relies on your ability to make a good solder connection. I've always gotten the NAMZ extensions.

Exactly - I purchased the extension kit from my local shop for $35 to extend all of the handlebar controls (not brake or clutch) and was well worth it for plug and play.

I cut and spliced the tbw no problems here ,the difference in the CVO is they do not have a green plug and they are 80-100 bux.
12 bars you can route the wires and plug under the radio if you go with 14 bars you will have to extend the wiring, I like Guerrilla Cables wiring extensions, great kit and excellent customer service .

YUP, +1 on the service manual. Lots of little tricks it'll describe that'll save you rpl things like brakes switch afterwards. Couple popsicle sticks works great for the brake.
