Unfortunately here in Florida state law doesn't allow them to discount extended warranties. Everyone has to pay the same.

your local dealer shouldn't give a rat's *** where you bought the esp from. in fact, they might not even know. you take your bike in for warranty work, they will check that it has esp. yep, okay, let's fix it...... the computer is only going to tell them you have it, not where you bought it from.

I was wondering because the Toyota ESP specifically states the Selling dealer on the contract. But maybe you are right. I have never used it so it may not be something we have to "show" It should be in the system.

I normally do not have anything in my cars that have my name and address on them. Because I had a car stolen at a Casino in Vegas and they had my address and Garage door opener Home Link. I was in a show so they had three hours to go to my home and just take everything. Since then I keep my registration and Insurance proof in my wallet for bike and car. I was a little nervous seeing the contract with my name and address in the wifes RAV so I took it out. I will ask the next service if my contract is
"in the system" so I can take it out of her car.

good point.

the term "extended service" is a little misleading, I think. Its an "extended warranty" plan. I currently have a prepaid maintenance plan for the duration of my two year warranty. might look at getting that renewed by my local dealer as they don't transfer.
I have over 18000 miles on my 2103 FLHTK and hope to put another 7000 by the time it rolls over the two year mark. While I know a lot of folks do their own maintenance, the dealer I have had since 2009 is pretty square and has a good bunch of guys in the svc department.

It all depends on if you do your own work on your bike. If you do, I think the extended warranties are a waste. I couldn't wait to break ties with my service dept after I got a first hand look at their "assembly line" work. Plus at least my dealer ,treats the bike like a hunk of metal. I witnessed one of the guys that pulls in the bikes at night with a huge chain and keys dangling out of his pants, hopping on like 1/3rd of the bikes outside. Not for me...

YEah I agree and I don't do my own work. So if the bike has a tendency to need repairs it's probably a good buy at $1200 NOT $2400. But in my case I don't keep bikes long. I get bored with them after awhile and after being stuck in a Yamaha for six years because I bought it new. It was a chore to ride after three years. Never again. So knowing me, I probably will sell the bike in a couple years and have a better chance selling it privately if its stock and has a few years left on a Harley Extended Service Agreement with less than 12K miles. I would likely have my Indy do any work even with the agreement if it was under $400.

I had heard that the esp price changes after 6 months of ownership? Then available at a slightly higher price during the balance of the factory warranty. Kutter just shows one price as long as the bike is covered by the factory warranty. Is that correct?
