There is a slight price increase if you have had the bike over 30 days. I purchased the 5 year ESP from Kutter last week and I got my '14 Limited in early September. I bought on Tuesday and had the written contract and ESP card in the mail on Saturday.

You don't have to buy from a Florida dealer, you can buy the extended warranty from any Harley dealer in the Country...

Under the ESP you can have an indy do the work, it used to be the same $50 deductible for an indy or a dealer, now it's $100 for the indy. I had my local indy do extended warranty work on my '06, paid the $50 deductible on over $1900 of work and that was it. I'm pretty sure the dealer must do the warranty work in the first 2 years but after that the indy can definitely do the warranty work.

When I bought my extended warranty it does indeed list the dealer who sold it. With my particular contract I can take it to any of the five dealerships that my dealer is associated with for no deductible. If I am out of thier area I can take it to any dealer and pay a 50 dollar deductible. My bike was bought used so the factory warranty was a non issue. I am not sure who underwrites my policy but the last bike I had needed to go in for servicing under warranty and it was more than I had paid for the warranty so I came out right side up.

The "price" is negotiable from dealer to dealer but it's supposed to be the same as long as you buy the ESP before the initial 2 year warranty expires. After that, it goes to the USED price column. You can purchase the ESP at any time until you get to 75,000 miles. I recently purchased from Jim at Kutter and within 3 weeks I had a front tire replaced in Seattle and a rear in Livermore, CA under the plan. If you don't ride much, it's probably not a worthwhile investment. I do, and I like to take road trips.

I just cannot keep bikes. I only got stuck with the Yamaha because I bought it new for $8700 in 07 and put $4000 in it. Mustang seats pipes, Intake, ECU, adds up fast, But I kept the stock parts in case I had to trade and sold the good stuff for 40 cents on the dollar. Lots of V Star 1300 owners out there. I learned my lesson about throwing big money into any bike I own going forward. Not gonna do it. I will give gladly up that part of the "Harley Lifestyle" and not buy the expensive clothing and parts, Ia done with the bike. I bought the back rest and rack and 4 point mount assy on Ebay for $200. CheaP $200 pipes with Stock in the attic.
XIEDS to run it richer. Maybe throw an better K&N under the stock cover give it some more air. run cooler.

I would not think of keeping two bikes especially the same class. I don't ride ONE enough anymore since moving east. never mind two. But yeah My Yamaha was bullet proof. Never had an issue. 10 minute Oil change twice a year. Never even had the valves checked. Only had 18K but impossible to sell for a good price so I stripped it down to stock and traded it and sold the crap I put on it on Ebay. That helped make up for the crappy $3500 ACV trade on the RK. Increased it to $4500. I could not sell it at $5500. But it cost me less than $100 a month to ride for all the years I had it when all was said and done so I won't complain.

I paid $13K cash OTD plus the Yamaha 1300 minus the stuff i sold on Ebay So I can't complain. All I expect from the RK is $14K in three years. that should be doable. I only about 3K a year and ride year round here. Mostly local commuting. Whenever I don;t need the car to go somewhere I take the bike. Bread and milk? Take the bike....LOL The wife doesn't like riding so we don't do trips. Maybe to dinner or movies if I beg her.

Yeah I thought about that. I don't ride out here like I did out west. Not even close. I was thinking in terms of selling the bike privately down the line. It works like a charm for my Toyota Always got nearly $3000 more selling privately because I had a heavily discounted online Toyota Platinum Coverage for the new owner. I would think its even more valuable for a used Harley buyer.

included.... I have until November. May go up by then but then again it will be out of season there and be the same.

yes, the contract shows the selling dealer. however, you don't have to take the contract in with you to get service done. you do get a wallet card that has the 1-800 number on it to call if you need roadside help, and has your vin and signature on the back. nothing on that card about the selling dealer.

this is assuming that you have the 'official' hd esp which is underwritten by cna. if you don't, then all bets are off.

So you are double covered for the first two years. I wonder why people don't wait then buy the longer one before their warranty expires. One thing I like about the Infinti When you buy a discounted ESP it starts the day you buy it Mileage and years. Makes it easy. 3 years/75K $900 from today. No in service date. I hate that I am only buying three years when its listed at FIVE.
