Default Street Glide

I am getting very close to a new bike. I test rode a new Street Glide and I have some questions. I was very un-impressed with the new clutch and had a hard time finding neutral. I understand the bike was stock and needed a stage one but it felt gutless compared to my 88 twinky. I am leaning towards a Road King because I really don't care for a radio on a bike so I will test that one next. Was the shifting stiff on this bike because it is new, or is that common with the new glides?

I think it's because it's new, and the transmission fluid. My 12 felt much different than the one my dealer had as a demo, but it was much better after I put some miles on it and changed to Amsoil fluid.

Just take one for a longer ride! A new bike is going to feel new, even if it is the identical year and model to your own secondhand one. 'Twas ever thus!

It is because it is new. Neutral on my 2014 so far has been easier to find than on any new HD I have owned.

Neutral is hard to find when new. Once everything breaks in much easier.

Felt the same way when I bought a new bike. After 1000 miles seemed to work itself out.

Never heard that before.

But then again, what work has been to to aforementioned 88 has not been revealed either.

So far, between our snowstorms, I have put 140 miles on my 1st street glide. The 1st ride neutral was hard to find but subsequent rides it is as easy as the softails I've owned. Each ride I like it more and more. I've had Road Kings also but you'll enjoy a street glide more as you get used to it.

+ 1 on tranny braking in to find nuetral easier ( that or I got better at it).
Vis a vis 103 hipo 'gutless',,, not. The power on my bike scares me every time I ride. You must have one hellava modded 88.
