Mine will interrupt the MP3 played from the 660. I don't particularly care for hearing the zumo though, screen prompts work will enough for me. I don't like back seat drivers

It'll interrupt the internal mp3 without the module...the NIM is only so that it will interrupt ALL sources (FM,CD,etc) in addition to Aux.

TriGeezer is correct. If your dealer installed your 660 correctly (handlebar mount or dash mount), all you need to do is install the GPS in the cradle and turn on the ignition. Your GPS will start automatically. The NAV switch was put there to operate a POS GPS system harley came out with in 2008 based on Mapping CDs you had to insert into the CD Player. It only lasted a year or two.

I don't believe the 200.00 that I saved would justify buying the Roadtech version. Plus it doesn't come with the mount. I don't listen to the radio our cd's either so the Nav link would have been a waste.

One more question. Is the GPS volume controlled by the volume on the GPS. For example, if I am riding in the city and do not want music one, can I turn down the radio volume to mute and still hear the GPS commands if it is controlled via the GPS?

A lot of time I do not want radio distraction and want to focus on turn by turn instructions for safety reasons.

If you have the Garmin RoadTech 660 and it is connected to your radio through the NAV interface, then you will hear all directions through your radio system (speakers and/or headsets).

The music will mute, as the directions are given.

The GPS volume is controlled via the radio volume switch. As I mentioned before, it is set independently from the radio volume.

If you set the GPS volume to say 9, it doesn't matter what volume you set the radio to, the radio will mute and the directions will be heard at level 9. You could turn the music down to 1, and the directions will still be heard at 9.

Perfect, thanks. Tough to teach this old dog new tricks. I think I prefer paper maps and the occasional getting lost. As Phil says on Duck Dynasty, I am a low tech guy surrounded by a hi tech world.
