Pretty close, but I'd give the edge to my GL1800 over my SE-204 cammed Road King. My friend has a 2012 1600GTL Beamer now that is no comparison for any touring rig.

Totally wrong. For a big heavy bike they are very economical.

So; NO
Those GL1800 numbers are at the crank, not bhp Hippie.

My 06 RG with 107" Axtel Jugs, 585EZG S&S cams, head work, Baker 6 speed, fat tire kit and other stuff pulls the GWs from a standing start or a roll on the freeway. On the long haul I'm getting around 43 mpg. 121h/132T goes through rear tires pretty quick though. That's how ya get it done.

I don't care how much toque or HP a Goldwing has or how much faster it is over my 113 SG, but do you want a Honda tat on your shoulder or HD ink?

I think it would take a ton of money to get a Hog to keep up with a Goldwing. The Goldwings have a lot of torque down low and are geared lower than Harley's. If you've never ridden one, give it a try. I'm turning 40 this year and I've owned 2. Always loved the Harleys, but found the used Goldwings for less....plus they are a piece of cake to maintain and consistently get 40mph (same as my CVO).
