Default Screaming eagle or rinehart??

So here's my dilemma. Do I keep the screaming eagle exhaust or do I go with rinehart exhaust? If I go with rinehart, do I get the 3.5 or 4 inch. I want the traditional Harley sound deep N throaty. Thanks for any input!!!

More info on your year, model, engine size would help out.

Are you talking aftermarket SE pipes from the dealer or CVO SE pipes?

Do you travel a lot?

After having both................I would have to recommend the Rineharts. I have the 3 1/2 on my stock '96 and they sound nearly identical to the 4". But I have noticed the 4" sounds better than the 3 1/2 if they are on a 103, 110 or a crammed motor.

First do you still have the cat in the head pipes? If you do it wont make to much difference as far as volume goes. After that it is personal preference on the make. I have the 4 inch rineharts on mine with vance and hines headers and I love it. Cruising its not crazy loud but it will scream when I give it some throttle. 4 inch will be a little deeper then 3.5 but both will sound good. If you put rineharts on and still have the cats in the head pipe I believe it is suggested to put the 4 inch on. I was told it is because it is a little more open and will help keep the pipes a little cooler to keep them from discoloring.

Also if you get the rineharts I'd suggest checking ebay first. I got mine brand new for $500. They were $650 from the stealer

Personally I went the Vance & Hines route with the header (power duals) and the slip ons (4 inch monster ovals) and I love the sound and performance. Get the low rumble you are looking for and they let you know they are there when you step on it, but you can hear the radio when you cruise. I listened to the rineharts and they were a bit too much for me in the sound department. I also listened to the SEs and liked them the least of the 3. Just my personal preference, your mileage may vary.

I started with 4" Rineharts slip ons, with the factory "catted" head pipe.
A little louder than stock, but not much.

Until you remove the cat, most slip ons are going to sound very close to each other.

After I added the V&H power duals, it really sounds great now.
Not obnoxious when cruising, but quite a bit louder than stock.

I have a catted stock head pipe on my 13 UC and when i changed to FM Pro Touring slipons the sound was night and day difference. Not super loud but definitely louder and much much deeper bass so im guessing it really does make a difference what brand and style slip on you use. SE,s are epa compliant i believe. FM,s are not. I would assume Rineharts are not either so Rineharts would sound better IMO

i like the deep sound of the rineharts. I also like the 4inch. What color is your bike? are you going chrome or black? Are you upgrading the ac at the same time?

Why limit yourself to those two brands, have you looked at the Rush Big Louies? Slightly more $ than the SE but almost $200 less than the comparable Rineharts.
