97-07 seats will fit, except for the road king and street glide (and cvo Electra 04-05) due to the length of the tank console. The Electra, classic, and ultra have a short console and long nosed seat, the others have a long console and short nosed seat. Street glide is the same as the road king, a no fit for your early Electra.
I have run a Road King / street glide seat on my 2002 Classic since new in 2002. They fit fine. You can get a filler piece if still running that ridiculous shorter dash. I initially went with a longer custom dash and later to a 2006/2007 street glide dash (which are very hard to find).
Well actually the offer was for the OP @pitarobb as the spacer is for the old frame/tank/seat/console. I used it on my 07 ultra when I put on a short nose solo seat. Anyway, I have one sitting here if someone needs it. Chrome is excellent. No marks.
