My frustration level has hit the ceiling. I placed an order for a 2014 Ultra Limited POSE in February. I was told it would take 6 weeks. Got an email from MoCo with the build schedule and the ship date (4/8/2014). Weather has been great here lately, in the mid 70’s this past weekend and have been chomping at the bit to ride my new HOG.
On Friday got another email stating ship date is now 4/21/2014 with the ability to change the model up to 5/4/2014. WTF???? No explanations.
Drove to the dealership to find out what the heck was going on. He advised that their computers had screwed up several orders and they did not even have my bike as being allocated. Is this typical behavior?
Back almost 10 years ago I got a similar runaround from a dealer that eventually went belly up. They blamed their computer and the MOCO for the delays. Went on for months. All lies. Seems they owed the MOCO money and didn't have the bucks to pay up. Not saying your situation is the same. But anytime someone blames the computer they are most likely lying.
The dealer should have known whether they had an allocation for your bike when they placed your order.
If the dealer didn't have an allocation, the bike will not be shipped until they do.
Probably not moco's fault, probably the dealer for not being upfront with you regarding allocations.
Not real sure what POSE stands for, but there are lots of limiteds sitting on the showroom floors around here. Did you order something special i.e. POSE?
I know it sux to wait, but you'll be riding soon. BTW, there are a lot of bikes on the used market running 1/2 to 3/4 the price with hundreds or thousands of dollars in upgrades already done. Most of these bikes are garage queens with extremely low miles and perfect service records.
Why are you buying new?
Edit: POSE = Police Officer Special Edition
