This is my first post, I am going to order the True dual 4" exhausted from Rinehart as well as Power Vision(PV). I know that, the air cleaner should be changed with hi-flow type to get the best performance. In fact, want to remain the original outside cover of the air filter cause it look nice with me. So, what type of the inner I have to order (may be K&N ) to fit the original cover and get the best performance.
Welcome to the Forum! And congrats on a great bike.
For air cleaners, there are literally dozens and dozens of choices. K&N is a good choice. As is FuelMoto and Screamin' Eagle (Harley's performance brand). Look around and decide what fits your taste best and go from there.
I had searched with screamin Eagle air cleaner catalog and found some part of K&N are there, but when I checked with the seller he said have to change to full kit (with the cover) to get the best stuff. So confusing now, any one have been keeping the cover and only change the inner and have the best result ? If yes. Pls advise the part mark number, brand - may be I will do the same.
To use your existing stock cover, SE kit #29400129 will do the job. On a new bike stay with Harley stuff, especially if you are relying on a local Vietnamese dealer. The kit includes a new back plate, K&N style air filter, plus mounting hardware.
The 29400129 looks like "no cover" one, I like to keep the chrome finish as the existing stock, or is it the optional to fix without the cover ?
I just new with HD, before married with Ducati - so now seem to be beginner, have some unclear about stage 1,2,3 .. also
This kit allows you to bolt your existing stock cover to the new filter. Better flow+stock looks.
Also, there are some threads on here about the differences between Stages but I couldn't find any right now. If no one posts a link, I'll look when I get home.
If you want to keep your stock '14 cover, I'd go the Fuel Moto kit; beautiful piece of work! Fully supports the cover like stock, but open in back to flow a lot more air. I have a FP-3 coming and hope to get it on later this week.
