Just got a Danny Gray Weekday 2-up seat for my '09 RK.
The seller lists it as fitting 08+ FLHR but I just don't see how. It's got a steel tongue at the front vs a slot like my C&C.
I have looked at part numbers on the Danny Gray site 200-408 but the seller sent me 21-408 but listed it as fitting 08+ FLHR. J&P shows the same seat as part number 22-408.
I am not missing something that the tongue style does NOT fit the FLHR 2009, right?
Sorry to say it's not gonna fit....simply not compatible. Not sure about the 08 touring bikes as they are kinda like transitional bikes in a sense with unique features shared by both the 09 and up bikes and the 07 and older models. Such as the narrower rear frames but the larger fuel tanks and throttle by wire. Your 09 definitely needs a seat with a slot as the fuel tank bracket I believe has a "male" tab that the seat slides over where as the 07 and older bikes have a slot in the frame that accepts the metal tab you have described. Hope that makes sense and that you can return the seat to the vendor.
Thanks Wide Glider. Yeah, it was pretty obvious but wanted to check just in case those four concussions I had from college ball finally kicked-in and nuked enough brain cells to mess me up (more).
