Move Over Florida....
Yea, I got raped once. I bought my only "new" harley in 08. It was an Ultra Classic. I was sore for weeks.
So more power to him. If he can afford to build the biggest dealership in the world, what do I care? I might be rolling through there sometime, and I can stop in see what all the chatters about... No skin off my nose.
I like small dealerships - used to go to one in the early 90s that was a converted chicken coop (no kidding) until the MOCO forced them to build to spec. Used to feel like part of the family when I walked in, then after, I was just a source of income. The only complaint I have of the small dealership I use now, no place to sit if waiting for service work. Before I moved, the local dealer at least had a lounge with big screen tv, comfy sofa and a soda machine that dispensed for free.
You got that right. Was there the other day looking at a Le Pera seat for a Street Glide. Nice but nothing spectacular. $938. I walked. No lower offer from them, no attempt to work with me, no nothing. That's the price. Take it or leave it. So I left. Drove a mile down US 1 and bought a nice Corbin for about half that. Got a nice lead on a pinstripe guy from Jared at Corbin to boot.
Bruce Rossmeyer was more than a HARLEY dealer. He had a vision and too bad he died too soon. His kids have carried on, sold some dealerships....and the re-leased some. Some were closed. I don't know why....but if someone has a goal to build the BIGGEST! I'd buy a t-shirt.

Bruce use to own a chevy dealership in jersey long before the HD dealership. He did well there. Regardless, big small, mom pop, corporate, etc,,,,bottom line take care of your customers and they will return as happy loyal customers. Treat them badly and they will go elsewhere.
