The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
today i went for my test ride on what i thought was a 2013 model, the one i saw last week. i wandered into the showroom, and there it was, still on the sales floor. bit strange i thought, its suposed to be outside, gassed up and waiting for me.
i was then told my test ride was on a NEW 2014 rushmore model.
so off i toddled for a few hours. first impressions were (baring in mind i live in London, UK), very different in built up city traffic to the glide. never had a heel-toe shift before, or boards. took some getting used to.
once on the motorway (freeway, to you lot over there), i couldnt believe how smooth it was. like sitting in a comfy chair. as a bone stock bike with only 600 miles on the clock, i was very impressed with it. as an added bonus, the brakes actually worked. a lot different to the dyna.
the only negatives were things i had been told about on this thread,
severe head buffeting at speeds over 65mph, and the seat was like a bloody razorblade.
after a few hours blasting around i returned the bike to the dealers.
we talked trade in figures, and the general consesus was leave the 2013 on the shop floor and buy a rushmore.
BLOODY DEALERS.

i went expecting to pick up a used bargain, and came away with an order for a brand new 2014 model. i will have to wait 3 months for it, as the UK dealer network has sold all their allocated stock.
all i need to do now is order the mustang, and get me a taller screen.
thanks for the advice, im sure i will be back asking more questions when i get it.
