Default Klockworks VS Wind Splitter

I currently have a 11" Klockworks windshield. I love the function but hate the look. So I bought a 7" Wind Splitter, Love the look but the function is just o.k. Has any one tried the 7" wind Splitter and the 7" Klockworks? If so which one do you like better?

Thanks
Hessmonster

with the stock windscreen, it is easy to alter the height by cutting the bottom edge with a rotozip, dremel or jigsaw.

think you could do that to your 11" ? ( use the other windscreen as a template to trace out the cut line, if you cut the keyholes wider, it makes for quicker swaps.)

then you could do your own comparison

I know everyone has their own taste but for fitment, function & style, I love my 6.5" 'Flare'. I have used the WS in a similar height. As wind conditions change around here it's hard for me to tell if there is a big difference in function. I have 2 friends that had WS & others each had said they love the look on the batwing ended up replacing with Klock Werks 6.5 & a 8.5".

I have both, I got the splitter because my stock shield was too tall for day to day, and I didn't want to cut it. Went to bike week and picked up the 8" klock werks, it doesn't seem to block as large an area as the wind splitter. I think I should have gone with the 11" Klock Works. The works also only came in tinted versions in the size I got. I like the buffet side of things. Makes a good envelope around me. Not sure how a passenger would be. All in all if someone offered a trade for the next size up on the klock works I'd probably try it. Harley will let you demo the wind splitter try it out before buying anything. Also if a friend has the same bike at least sit on it to see how you see over it, through it.

I will put in my $.02, even though it is not a direct comparison. I have the LRS version (10" X-Stream) and a 10" wind splitter. For me the Windspiltter offers much more wind protection. The LRS pushes the wind right to my ears, and it gets very bothersome on long rides. As far as looks, The LRS wins hands down.

I switch things up every now and then (I have a ton of windshields), but keep going back to the HD.

I have the 8.5 inch klock werks. It definitely works. My hat used to fly off with my 8 inch straight shield but now it stays on even at 70 mph. U can feel the vacuum it creates. Is there some breeze in the cockpit? sure. A little but your never gonna get rid of all of the wind. Its a motorcycle for god sake. I personally love the way the KW shield looks

6.5KW works fine for me...I tested the WS also and it didn't work for me. Like someone said...I still get wind and thats fine for me---it's a bike. If I want all the wind gone, I'd go much taller

One more thing, most bike rallies have a dealer that will allow demo rides with the Flare on your bike....

I ran with the 8.5" KW on my '09 SG and loved it! I put the 7" HD WS on my '14 SGS and hate it. About to order an 8.5" KW and sell the WS.
