I have them also. Like the straight pipe look with no mufflers. Not as deep of a sound as mufflers would be. More of a raspy sound to them in my opinion. I'm very happy with mine.
How are they in the performance realm? I've got a Pro-Pipe on my Softail, but am also interested in these pipes for a touring bike. The Pro-Pipe definitely adds a lot of performance, but I miss the classic thumping harley sound.
Had the Big Shots Long on my 2010 Softail Deluxe and was a nice match. Chrome held up well, was a fairly easy install and a good sound but pretty loud as others have mentioned.
Changed out a D&D Fat Cat on my new 06 RKC to the Big Shots. Dealer did a remap. I loved the looks and sound. Nice and Loud but not obnoxious. I couldn't tell a difference in the performance and they looked like new 4yrs later when I sold the bike.
Happy Riding from the Buckeye State.
The Big Shots will be OK as long as you stay with a stage 1 build. Add cams, head work or 107 and you're going to find out they aren't very good performers. Nothing against the pipes it just that they have 0 ability to scavange exhaust gases and they don't flow well at all.
As others have said, get the Big Shots because you like the looks, sound or quality but not for the performance. V&H makes lots of other pipes that perform well.
