Sorry to say, but what tuner did you get?

You mentioned above a turner named "TTS Power Commander"?

Is the turner a TTS Master tuner or a V&H Power Commander? There is a big difference between the two turners and companies that make them both.

That would be my advice as well. Use them and then form your own opinion. Maybe they'll treat you right. Maybe.

I have used Skips. A few years ago he tuned my 2002 RK and got great results. He has my bike now for a 97" upgrade I pick it up tomorrow I dont expect to be disappointed. Clay at the front is a great guy, Skip has always been nice and explains everything..maybe he was having a bad day?? I still appreciate the service and pricing.

Picked up my bike today from Skips Speed and Custom Shop. 97" upgrade kit installed runs like a mad cat! I went up to 95HP and 115TQ!! All that for under $2,000.00!

I work @ Skip's and wanted to clarify this situation. This bike had been tuned twice before on 4/2011 (when the Mastertune TTS was originally purchased) and again on 4/2013.
The owner had new paint and engine mods done elsewhere and brought it in for a dyno tune on a Saturday. The TTS would not communicate with the ECM so we asked to keep the bike so we could get in touch with the Mastertune Tech department on Monday.
On that Monday the Tech from Mastertune tied in to our dyno computer and could not get the interface to communicate with the ECM. He wanted us to send the tuner and the ECM from the bike to him for diagnostics. The owner of the bike did not feel comfortable sending his ECM. So it was decided to just send the tuner.
In the meantime the owner decided to purchase a new tuner so he could get his bike back sooner rather than wait for Mastertune to run the diagnostics. So we used a new TTS and dyno tuned his motorcycle.
Mastertune said there diagnostics were somewhat limited w/out the ECM. They could not find fault but agreed to send it back to us. They suggested we have the customer bring the bike back in and try to use the original TTS while having them remotely tied in to our computer. They agreed that if the tuner would not work that they would replace the tuner for us so we could refund the purchase price of the new one to the customer. The customer declined to do so and that is where it stands.
In regards to the conversation between the bike owner and the shop owner I cannot say how that went down or if either were at fault but Skip told me that the bike owner hung up on him when he reiterated that we would only refund the money for the second tuner if Mastertune were to give us a credit or a new tuner to replace it. In my conversation the bike owner, although upset at the situation, was not unruly or disrespectful. Thanks

Default Change of ownership

Hey all I wanted to send the word out on this past issue. The owner of this establishment retired and apparently has sold his shop to one of his employees, a guy by the name Jason. Due to the change of ownership I returned to have my bike tuned once again. Jason could not of been more helpful in getting the bike wired just to the point that I needed it. After deciding the bike needed one or two more adjustments he was happy to take me first in line and could not have been nicer. He changed the name of the shop to 141 speed. If you need your bike team head over there because I'm sure Jason will treat you right

What if.... you guys were talking and simply lost connection?
That would be ironic and probable as both parties thought the other hung up on each other and then went to their corners to brew. "How dare he hang up on me!" lol

Anyway, glad it worked out. Did you finally get a credit on the old TTS?

And to clarify why my bike will never enter Waugh HD again, when I bought my 99 it had 30k miles on it, tensioners needed replacement, I took it to Waugh for the hyd tensioner upgrade and SE 204 cams, they gave me a winter special deal of about $1,200. When I took the bike in it was making about 30psi oil pressure at 3,000 rpm's, went to pick the bike up and while riding home noticed around 10 psi, I called them and they told me it was probably the gauge??? I replaced the gauge, still 10 psi and zero at idle, this is the new better hyd system? They took the bike back, put in a second hyd system, no go, the same no pressure, then told me Hd factory support told them that was acceptable oil pressure, well it was not acceptable to me, had 30 psi when I brought the bike in and now have 10??? Well I was not to happy and told them this was not an acceptable solution, they told me they will put my old pump and plate back in, charge me $500 for the cam job and that was it. I told them they did not have mecahincs there, they had parts changers, a mechanic would find out why it was not working. I took my bike down the road a few miles to a place called Twisted Wrench, Mark is the owner and only employee of his shop, he put Andrews gear drive cams in, Fueling cam plate and oil pump, pressure is great and the bike has been running fantastic. That is why I will take my bike to a mechanic and not Waugh HD parts changers.
