If Harley actually made the batteries, you might make a good point. Since they don't and you can get the exact same battery for a lot less elsewhere, it's just sad. But hey! it's your money. Drink the kool-aid if you want.

Big crank seem to be the way lots of folks go.
Under a hundred bucks delivered to your door.
Extra CCA's nice, too...

I recently replaced my stock 2007 Street Glide Battery with an ETX30L from Battery Mart. $95.00 delivered to my door. The original battery was not causing any problem but I did not want to trust it going into the riding season. Very happy with purchase and fit was same as stock.

I've had problems with battery tenders frying batteries. Do you guys keep the bike on it all the time? What brand tender? Is ETX30L the Harley part number for our battery?

Are you sure you've been using a battery tender and not a trickle charger? They work very differently. A trickle charger maintains a slight charge all the time. A battery tender is computer controlled and only charges as necessary. I don't think I've ever heard of a tender frying a battery.

I live in East Texas and keep my battery on a tender from about November to April. I only use it when temps are cold at night. I don't bother the rest of the time.

I use a Battery Tender Plus. This one:

Amazon.com: Battery Tender 021-0128 Battery Tender Plus 12V Battery Charger: Automotive Amazon.com: Battery Tender 021-0128 Battery Tender Plus 12V Battery Charger: Automotive

It varies it's output depending on the temperature.

HTH, Ride Safe

HaHa. Why sad?

I guess I've been drinking the Harley kool-aid for over forty years and it still tastes good. I look at it as you treat me good, I'll treat you good. So far, so good.

To each his own. Ride safe.
