Thanks for the post above. Second battery in about a year. I'm leaving for the Laughlin run on Sunday and I see the site says "5 days transit time" so should I chance it? I'm in CO but I could ship to my FIL's house in St George, UT and change it out there. Or Phat Perf could be at the event and get it at the final destination. Still cranks but will drop to 12.6v in 2-3 days of garage time if I only ride to and from work.

==============================

Thats a true statement because some maint type float chagers can in fact cause our agm bike batteries to fail prematurely due to overcharging.

thats why i never leave that type charger on my bike or classic more then a few hrs after it reached full charge and drops back to lower float maint charge to avoid that situation all together.

And i get long/well above avg srvc life out of my bike & classic car batteries maintaining the batteries in those vehicles that way even when in winter storage here in NY state where i top off batt charge 1x every 2.5-3wks.

$160 OUCH!!!!

Dude,you need to do more searches here in hdforums and or especially on google that could have saved you significantly more $$$$ because i found the same battery in 1 minute flat doing 1 search in google & have also posted the great price i got on the same battery mult times here in hdfroums over the past few wks too.

All you had to do was a simple search here in hdforums with " Yuasa GYZ32HL " in search box and you would seen my posts on the low price & where i got it.

I got yuasa's GYZ32HL for $132 including S&H to my door coast to cost in only days flat from Phatperf online that could have saved you an additional $28+ that could have covered a nice steak dinner & beer for you or an oil change on your bike done by you,etc.

Lowest prices i saw a few wks back on Ebay & Amazone for that battery was approx $140-145ish inc S&H too but some were approaching $200 too which is out of line.

But the price both of us got Yuasa's GYZ32HL battery for were good considering it lists for over $200!

Better luck next time!

BTW, how do you like the way you new Yuasa 500cca battery spins over your HD's motor,man it makes mine fireup lickatysplit / a lot faster then the 400cca deka type battery ever did in my bike though the Deka type ETX30L 400CCA AGM battery is still a good quality long lasting reliable battery especially for only $97 to your door from HiTech battery online that i would rec 2nd to yuasa's GYZ32HL 500cca battery.

Happy motoring!

Scott

It seems to crank slow but if I take a long ride it holds a charge longer. I know the short trip doesn't allow the re-charging to adequately replace the juice used with the radio and amp going. When it was new I never had this problem so I just ordered a "Yuasa GYZ Factory Activated, Maintenance Free Battery - GYZ32HL". I'll fully charge my current battery off the bike and do some testing to see if it's dying a slow death.
