^^^ yea i hate callin them for anything. Hard to understand and they are always tryin to give you a free radio which i took them up on once for my harley. And they are always just blabbin on about **** when all i wanna do is pay my bill. Damn me for not remembering my online account name and password.
HD XM module is junk especially considering the cost. Lousy reception and doesn't go as loud as the tuner, CD, or AUX.
Since upgraded to a Sony HU with SXV200V1 (which retails for only $46) and all the above mentioned issues are gone.
You would lose the CB function with a aftermarket HU but I've read CB reception is lousy as well. One member said they actually had to go to a truck stop to see if it was even working.
Not my experience at all. The XM works fine and if it is not as loud as the AM/FM, that is what the volume control is for. I have had CB reception on a good day as far away as 4 miles. If your friend is having reception problems, it might be because he does not have the squelch set right.
I would not be without CB as the wife and I use them all the time, especially on long cross country rides. We also us them extensively on group rides. Always try to have the road captain and the sweep with CB's.

I will double check the connections and also do a signal resend with the second antenna. I have tried the resend now. I used the Harley ultra pigtail. Fun figuring out that wiring. I also am not worried about volume - thank you Hog Tunes.
