S/E filters are not paper, they are some media that can be washed but is not to be oiled. Sometimes it will say on the filter if it is to be oiled or not.
a K&N has a cloth type media with wire screening on both sides of it, the oil used is red.
a modern S/E is usually paper.
S/E used to come with K&N...that's why I don't have one on my TC, my Evos do have S/E w/ K&N's
the Ness big sucker filter media is like K&N, usually blue ( until you spray it with red K&N oil)
PJ1 also makes filter oil, so you can;t always go by colour

Of course they call in their experts that confirm authenticity and valued it at $700,000 - $1,000,000. Rick offered the guy $600,000 and the guy WOULDN'T take it!! Hard to believe someone would pay that much for a old Stratacaster
