Get your seat narrowed, move your floorboards forward 1 inch. Do not lower the bike!! Lowering the bike decreases the amount of lean angle and ruins the ride, unless you ride on perfect roads.
I put progressive 944's on and love them. You can read all about them on the forum - or watch YouTube videos..... But they ride great and the ride height is 1" lower than stock.

This is complete BS. Lowering the bike an inch makes virtually no difference to handling or lean angle. Ive done it and the bike rides great... Doesnt scrape any more than it did before.
If you want to do it cheap just pick up a pair of the stock air shocks from a street glide and bolt em on.
If you lower the rear by 1", the floorboards are closer to the ground (by something less than 1") and therefore lean angle is reduced...You can't argue that fact.
But it's negligible, and thousands of Street Glides are riding around safely 1" lower than a standard Road King, and all is well.
When the op said lower 1" ,I thought he meant front and rear. Regardless when you lower the rear an inch, you give up about 1/3 of your suspension travel. If you're lucky enough to ride perfectly smooth roads, that's great, not where I'm from.....
Hey OP, at 6'1" you can't touch the ground decent? Something isn't right with that. I'm that height, and have zero issues. You sure your seat is stock?
