If you want to do it cheap just pick up a pair of the stock air shocks from a street glide and bolt em on.

This is complete bull product as well. Lower bikes grind a whole lot easier than standard height bikes. The lean angle is reduced therefore the machine is easier to scrape as well as the suspension travel being reduced, FACT. You just are not coming close to the actual capabilities of the machine either due to your riding style or lack of skill or both.
What you are telling someone who has no idea and may actually believe is simply your opinion and your own experience.
So for YOU there is no perceived issues.

This for the rear (better ride and still has good travel than street glide shocks):

For the front either the Progressive drop in lowering kit, or the better quality, but more work to install kit from Harley Davidson:

I did both of these on my bike. 1.5" lower rear, 1" lower front. I'm 5'6" so it helped me significantly.

Default Well....

I did the Progressive 1" lower cartridges and the 944's. Rides better than stock still!
944's will be $500
Fork drop in's $400

Well worth it.

Sorry but Ive been riding over 30 years... Hundreds of thousands of miles. Ridden lowered suspension on quite a few bikes including my current Road King. I live and ride in the mountains and am quite well versed with my bike's "capabilities".... The OP is asking about lowering his bike an inch which will basically make his bike ride like a Street Glide or Road Glide Custom does right from the factory. There will be no issues - you're right - i speak from experience... A great deal of it.
