I'll run bike power to one of those WP cigarette lighter outlets. That'll power my Garmin as needed and my little electric tire inflater, as needed. Both have the cig lighter plugs with em.

I have a cig lighter on my bike. So I could get a GPS which has that type of plug-in cord and it would work off the cig plug in. Correct?
I love my Garmin Road Tech 660.I added a 30 gig Micro SD card now I have a 30 GB MP3 player.Which is a good thing since the day I went to pick up my Garmin my Ipod got rained on and now the screen back light is out and it's borderline useless. Also the 660s MP3 player has better sound than my Ipod through the AUX jack.
I bought a 665 last year and I ordered a 64 gig SD card for it, loaded some tunes on it and the Zumo couldn't read them. Did some research and the 665 can only address 8 gig on the SD. If the music doesn't happen to be on the first 8 gigs, the Zumo couldn't read it.
Are you sure your's can read above an 8 gig address?

My Garmin with the cigarette lighter plug works in every car I've ever plugged it into (I regularly rent cars). Its a safe bet you're OK with a 12v bike socket. Garmin's cig plugs are fused.

I think it used to be a song limit (1000) and a card size issue. As far as I know, Garmin took all those limitations away with firmware updates. I've a 16gig with just under 2000 songs. It works just fine. I know when I first got my Garmin, it wouldn't read all the songs on my 16. After a FW update, I had no more issues.
make sure the plug doesn't hit your tank when turning left.
Great suggestion. I would not have thought of that as I would think the turn would have to be pretty tight. I can see how this could happen if the plug was too long though.
Here is a pict of my old *** Nuvi mounted to a $15 mount. Even though its not real easy to see in the bright sun, it works good enough along with my cell phone app and a water-proof state map in the tool bag. And no, the gps isn't waterproof as is, but thanks for looking out for me.

Sure could. You could also buy the accessory plug from Harley and connect it to your power cable and use the accessory plug under the seat forward of the battery.
