Looking for input on the best GPS for motorcycles. I've been using a TOM TOM XL340 for quite a while and use the plastic bag and rubber band in the rain. No problems. Just looking to see what new units offer in the way of programming routes and MP3 would be nice so I have one less thing to attach to the bike etc.
For me, I think the Zumo 550 is the best GPS for motorcycles. Water proof, programmable, custom routes from computer, XM radio, and the screen doesn't wash out in direct sun light. Also Blur tooth I think, not sure because I've never used it for that. A good alternative is the Nuvi 500 or 550. Both are water proof and you can load custom routes from your computer. I have the 550 as a back up and use it in my truck. No experience with the new Zumo 660 or 665.

zumo 550 agreed......I don't think they make it anymore but if you can find one I agree it's the best. Yes it also has bluetooth.
Expensive yes. But you said what do we think is the best.
Get the whole kit. The handlebar mount, cradle, the whole magilla.
I have the Zumo 600. Great. I dont want to deal with baggies. I put a lot of miles on in the summer, lots of trips, and it works well and reliably in all weather.
I've got a Zumo 665. its the second one I have. I dropped the first one and it got run over before I could get to it. it has Sirius but I don't like the reception the antenna puck gives. it only plays mp3, I think, too. I loaded some newer formats to the card and they wouldn't play until I reformatted them to mp3. overall I'm pretty satisfied with it....but then again, I prefer Garmin products. GPS city http://www.gpscity.com/ is a pretty good place to get some decent pricing and service.
