Default Works s Shocks question

I actually have Works shocks on my VTX 1800 and they do more than an excellent job. I was thinking of putting them on my 02 RKC. I guess I should expect the same good performance but wondered if anyone is running the Works on their bagger and if so can you comment on them. Thanks.

Works will give 10% off if I order two or more sets of their shocks. Regularly $519, that would make the price $467+shipping. These shocks are made to the weight of you and passenger. They are NOT, one size fits all. The springs are adjustable by hand, no tools needed. I paid $600 for the ones on my VTX. Also I believe the Works are returnable for any needed adjustment during the fiirst 30 days, Maybe longer. I did have mine readjusted once and I remember it was outside their period of adjustment and it was donreat no charge. Anybody interested in a group purchase?

I just picked up a set for my bike but haven't ran them yet. I've heard that they are just as good as Progressive shocks, if not better.

Bryan, FYI, no "gooks" in Iraq. That's another time & place.

Do you have to remove the saddlebags to adjust them?

Just release the bags & you can get to the adjustment. Have used their shocks on my last 2 baggers. Will never use another. 2 up & loaded they are great.

I guess I need help in understanding why one would spend $500 for a set of shocks. I still have the stock shocks and adjust the air pressure for the load. To me, it seems to ride and handle pretty good. What do you gain for the $500?

If you are going to make good sense and say intelligent stuff, why don't you stay the h*ll off the forum. Actually in my case (I'm heavy. My wife is heavy and we carry luggage and take lots of trips) I find that my air shocks seem to deflate over time and the bike bottoms out notifying me that I need air. There is not much give in an air shock were as the Works (and probably others) have two stage dampening which is superior to the air shock. Plus I have $500. On my VTX which is much heavier than my RKC, it would wallower going thru turns particularly riding two up. The Works completely eliminated this and truly "SOAKS" up bumps and road hazzards. If you are a light weight or don't ride all that much, I suspect a better shock wouldn't be beneficial to you.
